Galantis - Pharmacy

Swedish EDM duo Galantis have been ones to watch since their self-titled EP dropped in 2014 - which was golden in itself, but their album is on a completely different level.

If you're after summer anthems to get you in that feel-good sunshine mood, look no further. Pharmacy offers track after track of pool party vibes, and while many artists release singles which often go on to be the best/biggest tune on their album, this years earlier hit 'Runaway (U & I)' is in no way Pharmacy's biggest banger. This is an example of an album which needs more exposure, for some reason Spotify haven't featured it on their new releases page, when it totally deserves a place on their big name releases. 

Nothing is perfect, as they say, and Pharmacy is certainly not exempt from this. While Galantis have their own thick and sugary flavour, which sets them apart from the EDM masses, their song's all follow the same formula - and often blend into one. It is easy to lose yourself while listening, without noticing if a different song has started playing - they get a bit samey. However don't let this ruin the poppy vibes that Galantis dish out throughout the album, the whole piece is a solid smile fest, guaranteed to get you moving. 

Highlights include 'Peanut Butter Jelly', an earlier single which is voraciously catchy, 'In My Head' for its crisp vocals, and the crown goes to 'Firebird' for being insanely vivid - bursting with audible colour.

While not the strongest album to be released this year, Pharmacy should definitely be on your playlist for summer - all you really need to know is that is screams fun. The whole thing is available to stream free on Soundcloud so get listening!
